Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko according to reports in the Ghanaian media have signed 24-year-old Cameroonian striker Mfegue Georges Omgba on a three-year deal from Avion Academy.

So, if you're looking at yourself and thinking 'who the hell is this guy?' - perfectly fair, don't sweat it, we've got ya covered.

Here's everything you need to know about Kotoko's new target man.

Scorer of great goals

In terms of his style of play, Mfegue Georges Omgba is as natural a finisher as they come. He's a solid hold-up player, and is excellent at bringing others into the game with neat lay-offs.

He's also a scorer of great goals. His bread and butter is first-time finishes in and around the six-yard box. He's a poacher, and a mighty fine one at that.

Omgba's aerial threat and physical presence makes him a tough forward to handle, and every centre-back is in for a long old afternoon when he's backing into them.

He's a Hard Worker

When considering a big striker, footballing fans would usually associate them with being somewhat lazy and perhaps more of a poacher in front of goal. But there can be no such criticism of Omgba, who works tirelessly for his side - even if he isn't the quickest.

A Proven Goalscorer

As well as being a tall yet tireless striker, Omgba is a reliable goalscorer.

He managed 8 league goals in 10 games for Doula Foot Academie in the 2015/16 season. In the recently ended season, he scored 10 goals and was he second top scorer in the Cameroonian topflight division.Omgba knows where the goal is, and he has continued to show his composure time and time again for Avion Academie.

The Porcupine Warriors will have a player who is consistent and reliable - not just in terms of his goal contributions, but also through his work ethic and desire.

Playing style comparisons

Omgba's style of play has been compared to that of former Werder Bremen and Peru frontman Claudio Pizarro. Both are noted for their powerful frame, clever movement and ability to find the back of the net.

International Experience

Omgba has experience at the International level after being handed a callup to play for the Local components of the Indomitable Lions in 2019 under the tutelage of Cameroon legend Rigobert Song.
