MATCH REPORT: Third-tier club Al Hilal United beat Asante Kotoko in a preseason friendly Featured

United Arab Emirates third-tier outfit Al Hilal United inflicted a painful defeat on the Porcupine Warriors in a preseason friendly on Thursday morning.

Asante Kotoko suffered a 1-0 defeat in their first preseason exercise in Dubai against Al Hilal United at the Al Hamriyah Sport and Cultural Stadium.

Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum paraded four newbies namely Richard Boadu, Joseph Amoako, Clinton Opoku and Dickson Afoakwa in his starting line up for the fixture 
The Porcupine Warriors commenced the game on a good note with brilliant passes in the middle as it was bossed by Richard Boadu and Emmanuel Keyekeh.
Asante Kotoko were unlucky upfront with the few chances created in the first department of the game as Dickson Afoakwa's attempt on the 12th minute went wide.
Al Hilal United proved their strength on the flanks as Nduor Fall and Bello Rouchdane kept dazzling the back line of the Ghanian giants.
Newly-signed Clinton Opoku and Fabio Gama were fouled most times resulting in free-kicks but none aided the Porcupine Warriors the opener.
Surak Musah and Milla combined with hopes of grabbing the opener before recess but their efforts went futile at the Al Hamriyah Sport and Cultural Stadium.
The first department of the scrimmage ended in a scores stalemate in Dubai.
After the recess, Al Hilal United continued their impressive performance as displayed in the dying embers of the first half as they launched a fearsome attack which gave them the match-winner.
On the 47th minute, former Ghana U23 left-back Christopher Nettey scored a goal at wrong net to hand Al Hilal United the victory in the crunchy preseason friendly.
Coach Ogum made two substitutions in the second half as Richmond Lamptey and Sheriff Mohammed were introduced as replacement for Clinton Opoku and Emmanuel Keyekeh respectively.
Asante Kotoko gained possession in the mid of the second half with hopes of levelling the score but their efforts went futile as the fixture ended in a 1-0 win in favor of the hosts.
The Kumasi-based club is currently in the Gulf country for a two-week preseason tour ahead of their 2021/22 season campaign.
Asante Kotoko left the shores of Ghana to Dubai for preseason tour last week for the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season scheduled to commence on October 29.
