Midfield maestro Gladson Awako is set to resume training with Hearts of Oak according to media reports.

Awako, after signing for the Ghanaian champions in August, is yet to feature - although he trained with the club on few occasions.

The former Great Olympics captain was adamant to wear the rainbow colors due to issues believed to be spiritual.

However, Hearts of Oak issued a communique in September to debunk such assertions and stated that Awako was facing pressing personal issues and has been asked to go and sort them out before making a return.

With the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League set to start this weekend, the diminutive playmaker is ready to don the prestigious rainbow shirt and dazzle for them.

Awako did not play in any of the Phobians three CAF Champions League play-off games.

The 30-year-old was not in the club’s setup in their win over Guinean side, CI Kamsar and also missed the Wydad Athletic two legged tiers which ended in a 6-2 mauling in favour of the Emperors.

Hearts will come neck-to-neck with Algerian side, JS Saoura in the CAF Confederations Cup play-off scheduled for November and December respectively, as they hope to make it into the group stage of the competition.

Awako sealed a two-year deal with the Ghana Premier League champions from regional rivals, Accra Great Olympics in a $15,000 deal.

On Sunday, Hearts of Oak will play Legon Cities on match day one of the 2021/22 Premier League at their favorite Accra Sports Stadium.
