Former Black Stars head coach, Akwasi Appiah has heaped praises on  Asante Kotoko following their explosive start to the ongoing season, having won their opening four games but warned them against complacency.

The Porcupine Warriors have been unstoppable since the commencement of the new campaign, as they are yet to drop a point or even loose a game after four matches.

They recorded a vital 1-3 victory over Dreams FC in their season opener, and furthered on also, with wins against Bechem United, Bibiani Gold Stars and just recently Eleven Wonders leaving them at the summit of the league with 12 points having maintained their perfect start.

When quizzed on Kotoko's explosive start, the ex- Al Khartoum gaffer has lauded his former club's brighter start to the season but has urged them to do away with all forms of complacency and focused on their subsequent matches ahead. He told Akoma FM in Kumasi;
“For now they’re doing very well. But they should not be swollen-headed. They need to concentrate and make sure every single game they take it game after game and should never think we’ve won four games, so that’s the end of it. Once complacency sets in then, it will be a problem for the team."
"And they also know that each team they face will be coming out in full force because now they’re leading the league table, and automatically all the teams will be eyeing them, giving them tough games, so the most important thing is to be focused and play according to the tactical instructions of the coach."
Asante Kotoko will play as guest to Karela United in Anyinase in match-week five of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.
