Asante Kotoko legend and former Executive Board Chairman, Opoku Nti has advised their arch-rivals Hearts of Oak not to relieve their head coach off his duties at this time, stating it will be a great mistake.

Coach Samuel Boadu inherited the 'Phobians' coaching role in the middle of last season of which he won them the domestic double after the campaign for the first time in over a decade.

However, Hearts of Oak's start to the season has been very appalling so far and is somehow undermining their chances of defending their league title.
They drew in their opening three matches but suffered their first season loss after slipping to a painful 2-0 defeat to AshantiGold SC last Sunday in Obuasi.
The club's poor start to the season has brought lots of speculations in the local media stating the Rainbow Club could show their coach the exit door with him also stating he is ready for any decision from the club's management.
Giving his view on the issue, Opoku Nti despite being on the other side in terms of their rivalry, has urged Hearts of Oak to maintain Samuel Boadu stating his sacking at the moment will be a great mistake. He told Kumasi-based Akoma FM;
"It will be a great mistake for Hearts to release their coach. It will be a great mistake.”
“If a team goes to the [CAF] Champions League and unfortunately they couldn’t make it, sometimes it affects the players as individuals. I believe the whole fraternity of Hearts – the management and the technical team has to sit the boys down and talk to them."
"They should stay focused and forget what has happened and move on.”
Hearts of Oak are currently preparing to take on Algerian outfit JS Saoura in Accra this weekend in the first leg of the playoff round of the CAF Confederations Cup.
