Accra Lions concluded what has been one of the most painful and inconsistent moments in the club’s young history after a painful defeat away from home at the hands of the Miners on Sunday.
After 15 minutes there was no dangerous moves, However, Gold Stars had few chances but failed to capitalize on it to struck home.
In the 39th minute Accra Lions attacking midfielder Abbas Samari hammered a long range shot which hit the post.
Frank Adjei Junior nodded home from a long range shot outside the box after 46 minutes to put Gold Stars ahead after connecting with a well-tailored carpet pass.
Accra Lions gaffer Rainer Kraft effected a substitution in the 46th, 56th and 65th minutes to try and change things by getting an equalizer, but yielded to nothing.
Prince Owusu Kwabena doubled the lead in the 71st minute to make it 2:0 and seal the win for Michael Osei's boys at home.
