At the Nduom Sports Stadium, Elmina Sharks failed to capitalize on their home advantage in their bid to break out of the relegation ranks as they were forced by the visiting WAFA side who were putting in an early minutes effort in their quest to avoid being relegated to score two goals in the first half whiles the home side made a swift come back from two goals down for a share of the spoils.

Henry Oware’s 13th minute penalty gave the visiting Academy lads the lead before Godwin Segla added the second at the 32nd minute to move his side into a comfortable lead.

The fearsome Sharks through Francis Oteng scored a goal in the 34th minute, whereas in they opened fire on WAFA with a waning moment effort with 28 minutes to the end of the game rescued a point to make it 2-2 for the home side to deny the Academy boys the maximum points and a shot to leave them at the relegation places.

The tie hasn’t improved Sharks numbers on the summit as they have annexed 21 points whilst WAFA retained the 17th spot on 27 points.
