West African Football Academy continued their impressive run in the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League with another victory.

The Academy boys whipped Aduana Stars 2-0 in their midweek encounter at the Sogakope RedBull Arena on Wednesday afternoon.

The Sogakope-based club mounted pressure on the last season champions to grab the opener on the stroke of the halftime.

Midfield dynamo Prosper Ahiabu delivered brilliant passes with Umar Bashiru and Ibrahim Fofona to frustrate the visitors.

Aduana Stars trio Zakaria Mumuni, Emmanuel Boateng and Elvis Opoku also managed to stabilize the pressure piled on them with descent tackles.

Ahiabu nearly fetched the lead for the homesters but his long range strike in the 15th minute went wide.

A 20th minute bicycle-kick from Yahaya Mohammed missed the woodwork by few inches.

With fifteen minutes to end the first half, Emmanuel Boateng wasted a chance which he could be found guilty for squandering that opportunity.

The Academy boys ended the first department of the game in a 1-0 with a header from Musah Nuhu.

Black Stars 'B' defender Musah Nuhu snatched the opener for his side with a powerful header in the 45th minute from a well taken corner-kick by Aminu Mohammed.

Ghana U17 star Aminu Mohammed completed their home victory with a superb free-kick in the 52nd minute of the match.

WAFA have picked seven points after match-day three of the Ghana Premier League to place second on the log.
