NC Special Cup Report: Bechem United, Ashanti Gold play out stalemate

Bechem United started their GFA Normalization Committee Special Cup campaign with a scoreless draw against Obuasi Ashanti Gold SC.

Ashanti Gold SC maintained their unbeaten run in the competition after holding Bechem United to a 0-0 draw at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in Bechem.
 
The match was balanced in the first twenty minutes of the match as both teams failed to create a goal scoring opportunity.
 
Ivorian import Richard Djodi failed to open the score for the Miners lads on the 22nd minute after squandering a goal glaring opportunity.
 
Ashanti Gold SC gained possession to dominated the last fifteen minutes of the match  as they piled pressure on the home side.
 
The match was halted on the stroke of halftime as the fans of Bechem United threw stones and sachet water onto the pitch to oppose decisions by the match officials.
 
The first half ended in a barren draw.
 
After the recess, the Obuasi-based club continued their impressive output to dominate the game but failed to find the back of the net.
 
Coach Osei Wire's side looked dangerous in the early minutes of the second half as they tormented the back line of Ashgold SC.
 
Saddick Adams, Daniel Gozar were introduced to replace Amos Nkrumah and Richard Djodi respectively in the second department of the match.
