MATCH REPORT: Akonangui FC 1-1 Ashanti Gold - Highflying Miners hold Akonangui FC at home

Ghana's sole representative in the 2019/20 CAF Confederation Cup shared spoils with Akonangui FC in the first leg tie on Saturday.

Ashanti Gold SC managed to hold Akonangui FC to 1-1 stalemate at the Nuevo Estadio de Ebebiyín.
The Miners lads looked very dangerous in the first fifteen minutes of the first half but they failed to find the back of the net.
Akonangui FC nearly got the lead but goalkeeper Frank Boateng denied Mbakoni  from netting the opener on the 20th minute of the game.
Duo Mark Agyekum and Shafiu Mumuni kept tormenting the defense of the home side with fearsome strikes before the break.
The Equatorial Guinea club gained possession in the last five minute of the first department but they couldn't utilize their chances as it ended in a scoreless draw.
Ten minutes after the break, Defender Richard Osei Agyemang registered the first goal of the match with a thunderbolt strike.
The Obuasi-based club kept piling pressure on the home side as Abdul Latif Anabila fired from a long range on the hour mark but goalkeeper Carlos Musibe fisted it out
A 75th minute gaol from Diosando Mbele denied the Miners from recording a victory in their CAF Confederation Cup opener.
The two teams could be found guilty for squandering the set-pieces and chances created in the last ten minutes of the match as it ended in a one all draw.
Ashanti Gold SC will host Akonangui FC in the second leg at the Obuasi Len Clay on August 23.
