The players could've done better - Ashgold deputy coach Yakubu Mambo

An early hat-trick by Ashgold goal poacher Shafiu Mumuni didn't overwhelm the assistant gaffer of the side as he had long entreat the fans to come early and be witnesses to the goal harvest.

Ashanti Gold SC assistant coach Yakubu Mambo says he wasn't so much enthused with his charges output after securing those early goals.

Notwithstanding, the tactician is without any ambiguity that, his side will be a force to reckon if they keep up the tempo of their game.

"We have to study our next opponents and prepare adequately because they will be here first, we need to be on top of our game so as to ensure a favourable results going into the return encounter"

"We could have beaten them in Equatorial Guinea if we had opened up earlier, but we found our rhythm after twenty minutes, we told the boys to go all out and make sure to finish off the game within the first twenty minutes"... Coach Mambo noted when addressing the media at the post match conference in Obuasi.

"The players realised they have scored three goals and they tend to minimize their performance and that was very bad because we  were expecting them to add more, but all the same it was a good performance"

Ashanti Gold SC will now face Moroccan club RS Berkane in the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
