CONFIRMED: Dr. Kwame Kyei unilaterally appointed Zachariassen

Executive Chairman of Asante Kotoko Dr. Kwame Kyei has confirmed that he unilaterally exercised his executive powers to appoint Kjetil Zachariassen as the head coach of the club without the consultation of the club's management team.

After Asante Kotoko's exit from the CAF Confederations Cup on Sunday against Ivorian side San Pedro at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Sports Stadium, the oil mogul addressed the teeming fans of the club that traveled to support the side in Cote D'Ivoire affirming his unison decision to appointment the former Ashanti Gold coach as the head coach of the club.
"I appointed the coach for you'll to examine him to see his competence," Dr. Kyei told the supporters in Abidjan.
This confirms the fact that the Norwegian trainer did not pass through any proper vetting to qualify him to be in the team's dugout as the club's head coach.
Kjetil Zachariassen faces the sack from Asante Kotoko after leading the club to a last stage exit before the CAF Confederations Cup group stages losing 2-1 aggregate to San Pedro.
Asante Kotoko started this year's Africa campaign in the CAF Champions League but were booted out in the last stage before the group stage against Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia before dropping to the CAF Confederations Cup.
