Aduana Stars striker Yahaya Mohammed has questioned the readiness of the two clubs — Asante Kotoko and Ashanti Gold SC — representing the country at the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup next season
Mohammed believes the two clubs are not prepared to feature in the competition next season.
He suggested that Medeama SC and Aduana Stars should have been handed the slot to represent Ghana at the CAF Inter-club competitions following their performance in the trucated 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season.
The 32-year-old expressed his dissatisfaction with the Ghana FA decision in an interview with Accra-based radio station Angel 102.9 FM on Tuesday evening.
“I don’t have a problem with the two clubs that have been selected to represent Ghana in the Champions league and Confederation Cup. However, are these two clubs ready to go and lift the flag of Ghana high?” He quizzed.
“In fact at the moment no Ghana Premier League (GPL) club is ready for Africa. The FA would have to select the top 18 players in the GPL to represent Ghana in those competitions” he suggested on Angel 102.9FM.
“Based on the preparation of clubs Aduana and Medeama should have the nod to represent Ghana. Those teams are very well prepared” he ended.
