OFFICIAL: 2019 Ashanti Regional Division Two Novelty Tournament launched

The Organisation Committee of the Ashanti Regional Football Association has officially launched the 2019 Adonko Division Two Novelty tournament on Saturday, June 15, at the VIP centre of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The dust has finally settled for the Ashanti Regional Division Two clubs to commence the tournament after it was launched today afternoon.
The launch has heralded the competition which was set in May by the Normalisation Committee of the Ghana Football Association to keep the clubs in shape for the upcoming season following the football impasse after the Anas expose last year.
The Special novelty tournament will have all the 56 Division Two clubs in the region to participate.
The clubs would be grouped into 14 zones of which each zone would have 4 teams. The zones would be centred across the league venues of the region. 
Each team would play three matches, the winner and the runner-up of the zones, and the 4 best teams would progress to the round 32 stage of the competition.
Winners of the competition would take home a trophy and a cash prize for the winner.
Some of the key football personalities who were in attendance was the RFA chairman Osei Tutu Agyeman 'Kotoro', ex Asante Kotoko superster Opoku Nti, Ernest Boateng Akutsah, who is the chairman of the Organisation Committee and representatives of the participating clubs.
This year's event is sponsored by Adonko industries, produces of Adonko Bitters, Adonko 123 and Adonko Atadwe Ginger.
The novelty competition will commence on Saturday, June 22, 2019.
