Irate Kotoko supporters attack Kumasi-based top Journalist over consistent criticism on match-fixing scandal

Furious supporters of Asante Kotoko on Thursday morning assaulted Kumasi-based journalist at the club's training grounds in Adako Jachie, Kickgh.com can report.

The biggest telecommunication network, MTN Ghana, on Thursday handed over a new training pitch at Adako Jachie to the Porcupine Warriors.

However, the Kumasi FM's journalist, Richard Acheampong, who was the MC for the ceremony, was attacked by the furious supporters few minutes after the programme.

According to Kickgh.com information, the vicious supporters are not happy about the consistent criticism by the outspoken journalist on the match-fixing scandal when Kotoko official allegedly bribed match officials for their match against Ashanti Gold during the Tier-1 of the Normalisation Special Cup.

The barbaric incident happened at the entrance of the new training pitch of Kotoko.

But only for the intervention of the Communications Director of Kotoko, Sarfo Duku (Esq), who helped Acheampong to get out of the grips of the disgruntled supporters.
