The acting Regional Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA) in Ashanti Region, Edmond Appiah led workers at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for a clean-up exercise ahead of the Independence Day celebration come March 6.

On Friday, 14th February 2020, Mr Appiah Edmund, who is the NSA Regional Director, led the workers at Baba Yara Stadium to tidy up the Washrooms, Popular stands, Press Box, VIP and the VVIP section for the 63rd Independence Day anniversary.

The anniversary will have President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his entourage and the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Keith Rowley, as the special guest of honour.

Apparently, the stadium will host the Regional derby between Asante Kotoko and Ashanti Gold in the Match Day ten (10) of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League on Sunday, 16 January.

The Titanic clash will be played behind closed doors as the Porcupine Warriors serve their last three home match ban.
