For us Ghanaians, it will provide us another opportunity to have a closer look at our heroes who feature week in week out for their respective clubs in the English top-flight league.

The just commenced season will see our heroes not only making waves but also exhibiting scintillating performances in their respective clubs. Some are likely to end the season with; others would be needed by their clubs to avoid the drop; some will definitely catch the attention of the media and others might not.
We've seen Ghanaian players do something memorable in the English top-flight. No need to dig deeper as the feats achieved by Anthony Yeboah and Michael Essien aptly this claim.
Southampton's new boy Salisu Mohammed will be looking to having a stellar season after his swashbuckling performances in La Liga last term.
Here at, we are firm believers that the English Premier League is for life, not just for the pomp and pageantry. If you feel the same, enjoy our list of six Ghanaian players who could set England on fire this season.
Jeffrey Schlupp inks new deal with Crystal Palace
Jeffery Schlupp has been inconsistent with for Crystal palace since joining from Leicester City three seasons ago. However,  Harry Redknapp still has high hopes in him hence his resolve to hand him a contract extension just last season. In 17 games last campaign, Schlupp found the back of the net three times.
Should he avoid injuries as was the case last term, except the Ghanaian to play a key role in the Palace set up this season?
Turkish and Scottish elite clubs chase Christian Atsu
Christian Atsu’s stock has significantly plummeted as he has struggled to replicate the form that saw him battering defenses in Portugal, earning him a deal with Chelsea.
Now at Newcastle United, Atsu has been plagued with injuries hindering his development. Undoubtedly, he has a tremendous amount of potential can be unleashed this season if given the chance to do so.
He made 19 appearances last term.
Southampton boss reveals date for Mohammed Salisu EPL debut
Mohammed Salisu is the latest Ghanaian to take a trip to the premier league from the Spanish side, Real Valladolid.
Salisu is a highly rated centre-back with very huge potential to reach the highest level of
football and Ghanaians will keenly monitor his development with the Saints. Salisu signed a 4- year -deal with Southampton this summer and has been with the team for a while now.
His manager has this to say about him after the capture ‘’ He is young and has a great amount of potential, but he is also someone who has the qualities to come in and help the
the team as a soon as he is up to speed with our way of playing and a player who fits our profile well’’ Ralph Hasenhuttl said.
 Baba Rahman returns to Chelsea
Almost everyone has forgotten he is still with Chelsea FC. Once deemed a diamond, injuries have taken a toll on his promising career.
He has spent four straight seasons on loan with less- fancied teams in different countries but is struggling to stake a claim.
With the arrival of English Left-back Ben Chilwell and the experience Marcos Alonso,
it’s very obvious he will make another loan move out of the club this time again.
Should he be retained, we should expect nothing short of improved performances from the marauding Baba Rahman in his quest to win over the hearts of everyone at the club.
'Daniel Amartey to leave Leicester City' — Manager
Daniel Amartey has been absent for close to two seasons due to a horrible injury and we are all happyhe is back to fight for a place in the team as well.
Amartey announced his return to the pitch with a goal In Leicester City’s final pre-season match heading into the new season.
We expect him to fight for a place in Brendan Rogers' side in the course of the season.
‘’ I’m pleased for the likes of Daniel Amartey coming back, in his first game in a long time. I think before the end of the window shuts, It will be an opportunity for a number of them to get out and AYEWget games because they need to play if they are going to improve under pressure. If they’re not going to be here, that's." Rodgers said in a recent interview.
Ayew makes emotional acceptance speech after triple award-winning night
Undoubtedly the best Ghanaian player in the EPL last season. He swooped all the club's top awards at the club's end of the season's annual awards night including Crystal Palace's Player of the Season beating off competition from playmaker Wilfred Zaha, frontman, Benteke, and Milinkovic their captain.
Jordan Ayew needs no introduction as he has already carved a niche for himself in the league. His nine goals helped Crystal Palace book a respectable position last season.
