The Islanders have entered the race to sign the nimble left-footed Ghanaian wingback in the ongoing transfer window

Italian top-flight side Cagliari Calcio are set to swoop for Ghana international left-back Kwadwo Asamoah from Inter Milan this summer.

The 31-year-old has failed to consolidate a starting berth in coach Antonio Conte's team set-up since joining the San Siro stadium outfit on a three-year deal last term.

Following a torrid league campaign last season, the former Juventus versatile fullback has now been tipped for a move way from lnter Milan - with Turkish giants Fenerbahce, Greek Super League outfit Olympiacos and French Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille - all linked with his services this term.

According to Newspaper La Nuova Sardegna, Cagliari have enquired about the availability of Kwadwo Asamoah together with his team-mate Diego Godin as they want to bolster their backline options with their acquisition from Inter Milan this summer for the 2020/21 football season.

With a game time hard to come by following a stiff competition from rivals Cristiano Biraghi and Ashley Young, the future of the Black Stars midfielder is uncertain next season and a transfer move seems highly on the cards for the 31-year-old.

Inter Milan are holding out for a transfer fee of 3 million euros for the services of the defender and admirers must cough up this amount if they are to prise him away in the ongoing transfer window.

Asamoah has a running contract with the "Nerazzurri" until June 2021 and his market value has been pegged at 6.5 million euros as per transfermarket.

The former Liberty Professionals attacking midfielder has been capped 74 times by Ghana at the senior national team level, the Black Stars with 4 goals to his credit.
