The Belgian giants have severed ties with the 34-year-old Ghanaian international in the ongoing transfer window

KAA Gent have terminated the contract of Ghanaian left-back Nana Asare having been declared as surplus to requirement by manager Wim De Decker this season.

The former Feyenoord Rotterdam youth product is now leaving as a free agent following his seven-year stay with the "Buffalo" in the Belgium Pro League.

Report filed by news outlet Het Nieuwsblad has claimed that the 34-year-old talented lateral stopper mutually terminated his one year contract with the Ghelamco Arena outfit and will now look elsewhere for another opportunity with admirers for the just-started football season.

Since bursting onto the scene in Belgium, the former FC Utrecht defender has had stints with Royal Antwerp and KV Mechelen in the Belgian top-flight.

Having joined KAA Gent in 2013, Asare has featured in  272 league games, scoring 4 and providing 16 assists.

The Kumasi-born talented left-back has been capped five times by Ghana.
