Powerful Ghanaian defender Jerome Opoku scores first goal for Plymouth Argyle

English-born Ghanaian centre-back Jerome Opoku registered his first-ever goal for Plymouth Argyle FC in the English League One on Monday night.


 Opoku who joined Plymouth Argyle FC on a season-long loan deal from Premiership side Fulham FC this summer scored his first professional goal against Portmouth FC in their match-week 11 clash at the Home Park Stadium.

Sean Raggett turned Frank Nouble's shot past his own goalkeeper to give Argyle an early lead as the home side impressed in the opening period.
John Marquis levelled from the penalty spot before Tom Naylor fired in Portsmouth's second two minutes later.
But Argyle levelled when Jerome Opoku scored from close range after a goalkeeping error from a free-kick.
The draw was the 14th home game without defeat for Plymouth, who stay ninth, while Portsmouth move into the final play-off place and stay unbeaten on the road this season.
Opoku enjoyed the entire duration of the match with an incredible performance against Portmouth
