The nimble left-footed defender has been handed a fresh term of contract extension deal by the Swedish top-flight side following his successful loan spell in the just ended league season

Allsvenskan side Ostersunds FK have tabled a new deal of contract extension to Ghanaian youth star Patrick Kpozo and are now awaiting him to append his signature to the fresh deal, according to his manager Amir Azrafshan.

The 23-year-old, who enjoyed a breakthrough season at third division side IFK Lulea in the just ended league campaign, has returned to his parent club ahead of the start of the 2021/22 Swedish elite divison contest.

Taking his talent into account, Ostersunds FK manager Amir Azrafshan has revealed his eagerness to keep him at the Jämtkraft Arena for many football seasons as he wants to hone his talent in reaching greater heights of his career given his potential.

''He is an interesting player that I hope to keep,'' Amir told Swedish Newspaper Östersundsposten

''I have seen a few more matches precisely because I want to know the quality and level,''

''He has some exceptional qualities and it is important to get them out, like any other player. There is a reason why he came to Östersund from the beginning,''

''Then sometimes it does not work and then you have to find yourself in a different environment. It has gone quite well for him in Luleå.''

The Swedish gaffer added, ''He has a fantastic speed and it is at a pretty high level. A nice left foot and has the ability to find passes between lines. I know that we have offered him a proposal, then we are waiting for an answer from him.''

Kpozo, who joined AIK from Ghanaian top division side, Inter Allies FC in 2017, featured in 20 league games for IFK Lulea having scored 6 goals and provided 3 assists in his season-long loan spell this term.

His existing contract with Ostersunds FK will expire at the end of this month.

The Black Satellites star is yet to be capped by Ghana at the senior national team level, the Black Stars.
