The 22-year-old lateral stopper of Ghanaian parentage has recuperated fully from the thigh injury he sustained on Tuesday against the Biancazzuri in the Italian lower division contest

Italian-born Ghanaian right-back Claud Adjapong has recovered from his thigh flexor injury, says his club Lecce FC.

The former Hellas Verona loanee defender picked up the flexor muscle injury in the thigh during his side's 0-1 defeat against SPAL in the Serie B league campaign on Tuesday.

Following a scan test on Thursday, the Sassuolo-owned player has now been given a clean bill of health by his team medics and could return to the pitch soon.

''Morning session at Acaya Golf Resort & SPA for the Giallorossi. The players were engaged in technical tactical exercises with a match on a reduced pitch. Differentiated for Felici and Dermaku. Adjapong underwent instrumental tests which gave negative results. Tomorrow another session in the morning at the Acaya, ” a statement from Lecce reads.

Ajapong has so far scored once in his 13 league games for Lecce FC in the ongoing league campaign this term.

Should he live up to expectations at the end of the season, the Stadio Via del Mare outfit will make his loan deal permanent from US Sassuolo.

The Modena-born right-wing back is still qualified to play for Ghana at the international stage despite featuring for the Italy U19, U20 and U21 national teams.
