German-born Ghanaian centre-back Gideon Jung will remain with Hamburger SV for the 2020/21 football season in the Bundesliga 2 campaign.
Having been deemed as surplus to requirements prior to the just opened transfer window, the Die Rothosen have now rescinded their stance on the former SF Baumberg youth star as they are to keep him beyond this winter.
According to Hamburger Morgenpost, the injury plights of Jan Gyamerah (ankle), Klaus Gjasula (torn knee ligament) and Amadou Onana (adductor problems), have left the Hamburg-based club with no option than to retain the services of the 26-year-old as the needed replacement at the defensive department.
Jung has so far featured in 9 league games for Hamburger SV in the ongoing German second division league campaign.
The Dusseldorf-born defender is still eligible to play for Ghana at the international stage despite featuring for the Germany U21 national team.
