German Regionalliga West side Sportfreunde Lotte have announced the loan signing of German-born Ghanaian centre-back Jesse Edem Tugbenyo from Bundesliga 2 side SC Paderborn 07 for the rest of the 2020/21 football season.
Prior to the start of this season's league campaign, the talented defender was drafted into the mainstream ranks of the Paderborn-based club by manager Steffen Baumgart.
Having found game time hard to come by this term, the 19-year-old has now been farmed out to the fourth division side by the Benteler-Arena outfit in order to aid his development as a budding star.
Sportfreunde Lotte manager Andy Steinmann was full of joy over the capturing of the promising centre-back for the rest of the German Regionalliga West league season.
''“I am very happy that we can welcome another talented player to our ranks. Jesse will improve the quality in the squad and we hope that he will give us more stability on our defensive,'' Steinmann told his club's official website
Tugbenyo failed to make a single appearance for SC Paderborn 07 this term.
The Warstein-born young stopper is eligible to play for Ghana at the international stage as he is yet to be capped by Germany at the senior national team.
