The talented lateral stopper of Ghanaian parentage has returned to the pitch for the first time after being sidelined with an ankle injury earlier this month

German-born Ghanaian right-back Jan Gyamerah has recovered from his ankle injury although he will play no part in Monday's Bundesliga 2 fixture against VfL Osnabruck, according to club's manager Daniel Thioune.

The 25-year-old fullback, who torn his ligament on the eve of new year, has now recuperated fully and could soon be in action for the Die Rothosen in the ongoing German second division league campaign.

Updating on the injury recovery of the talented defender, manager Daniel Thioune stated the former VfL Bochum youth star has no chance of featuring in their next league fixture given his current state of health condition.

''Gyamerah only returned to the lawn on Wednesday for the first time after tearing his ligament. A mission on Monday is still too early for him,'' Thioune told the club's official webste

''With Onana, who recently had adductor problems, things look better. He could return to team training this weekend. "If he is healthy, he is certainly an option,'' he added.

Prior to his injury setback, Gyamerah has be on fire for Hamburger SV in his 9 league games this season.

The Berlin-born defender is still eligible to represent Ghana at the international stage despite playing for the German U17, U18 and U19 national teams.
