Cagliari Calcio closing in on Kwadwo Asamoah Featured

Serie A side Cagliari Calcio are on the verge of signing Ghana international Kwadwo Asamoah on a free transfer in this winter transfer window, according to reports from the Italian press.

The former Udinese man terminated his contract with lnter Milan this summer following his injury plights throughtout his stay with them in the Italian top-flight.

A report filed by Sky Sport Italia has indicated that Cagliari Calcio are set to announce the signing of the former Juventus left-back as they are bent on beefing up their squad with his acquisition this January.

The Gli Isolani have extended the contract of manager Eusebio Di Francesco until June 2023 and are now looking forward to adding the 32-year-old nimble left-footed attacking midfielder to their ranks in a bid to avoid the drop at the end of the current league season.

Cagliari Calcio have also secured the loan services of Ghanaian compatriot Joseph Alfred Duncan from ACF Fiorentina this January.

Asamoah has been capped seventy-four times by Ghana at the senior national team level, the Black Stars with four goals to his name.
