The Portuguese outfit have decided not to exercise the option to sign the talented left-back on permanent basis.
Ghanaian defender Gideon Mensah will be leaving Portuguese top-flight league side Vitória de Guimarães SC at the end of the 2020/21 season when his loan deal expires.
The 22-year-old will be returning to his parent club Red Bull Salzburg in Austria after the Portuguese club failed to meet his asking price to sign him permanently.
According to Portuguese newspaper The Game, Red Bull Salzburg are demanding 2.2 million euros for the former WAFA SC full-back from Vitória de Guimarães for his release.
Vitória de Guimarães have ended talks with the Austrian Bundesliga giants on Black Stars defender and looking elsewhere for a new signing in summer to replace Mensah who will be leaving at the end of the season.
Mensah has been incredible for the Black and White lads in his debut season where he has made 16 appearances for the club so far
He has a contract with Red Bull Salzburg until the summer of 2024.
