The Turkish top-tier side have turned down the bid tabled by the ltalian elite division side over the services of their 27-year-old Ghana international forward in this transfer window

Turkish Super Lig campaigners Trabzonspor have rejected Genoa's €2m bid for the services of Caleb Ekuban, according to reports from the Turkish media.

The ltalian top-flight outfit were hopeful of snatching the signature of the former Chievo Verona frontman with their aforementioned offer, but the fee has now been deemed insufficient to be able to prise him away in the ongoing summer transfer window.

A publication on TS spor has indicated that the Medical Park Stadyumu outfit have told the Serie A campaigners that their offer cannot push them to the negotiation table as it's way below their valuation for the services of their jewel man.

"We will not sit at the table for this money ," an excerpt from the publication reads.

Following a breakthrough season last term with Trabzonspor, the former Leeds United forward is currently on the radar of many clubs across Europe - with French Ligue 1 outfit St Etienne as well as Italian elite division trio; Genoa, Sampdoria and Fiorentina - all currently on his heels this summer.

Ekuban's running contract with the 'Black Sea Storm' will expire in June 30, 2022 as his market value has been pegged at €7m per transfermarkt valuation.

He has been capped 9 times by the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars with three goals to his name.
