Ghanaian midfielder Solomon Mensah marked his debut with a blistering performance for Naft Maysan FC in their 2-1 truimph over Samarra in the Iraqi Premier League yesterday.

The hard-tackling midfielder was on top of his game and lasted the entire duration for the Kingdom Knights.

Iraqi midfielder Falah Abdelkarim opened the scoring for the host in the 4th minute before the visitors levelled via spot kick in the 32nd minute through Mustafa Hanoun.

Minutes after recess, Sajjab Jabar restored the lead for Naft Maysan with a beautiful solo goal.

Mensah joined the side in September after ending his stay with now relegated Egyptian top-flight side Aswan SC.

He was a former skipper for Bechem United and also spent a season with Lebanese club Sahel Al Shabab.
