The English third-tier side have announced the signing of the former Watford youth star in ongoing transfer window.

English-born of Ghanaian descent Bernard Mensah has completed his switch to English League Onevm side Bristol Rovers.

The 23-year-old has signed for the Pirates lada for an undisclosed fee and joins Rovers on a permanent deal from the non-league side.

Mensah has been an influential figure for the promotion contenders this season – weighing in with four goals in 15 games and racking up two assists to help the Shots reach second in the National League.

The centre-forward, who can also operate as a winger, started his career at Watford – making two senior appearances – before spells at Braintree Town and Barnet.

He has scored 15 times in over 50 matches for Aldershot after signing for them in 2016.

Mensah said: "I’m very pleased to have signed so early in the transfer window as the earlier the deal is done the better for the player and the club.

“There were a few other clubs interested in signing me but once I heard of Rovers’ interest they were my first choice. The Aldershot manager, Gary Waddock told me about the fans here, something I already knew having played here a couple of times myself.”
