Manchester United ready to pay £10.45m to sign Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu

Manchester United are plotting a swoop for Mohammed Salisu from Real Valladolid with the defender having a bargain £10.45m transfer release clause.
The Ghanaian ace has impressed in his maiden season in LaLiga, featuring in the starting XI for all but one match.
The 21-year-old penned a new deal with the Spanish side in May last year which expires in 2022.
But according to AS, he has a bargain release clause of just £10.45m in his contract.
Valladolid are reportedly keen for the defender to sign a new deal which would include a higher release clause.
Salisu has been instrumental in manager Sergio's defence this season, clocking up 27 top flight appearances and one goal.
The central defender's scintillating form has attracted interest from the Red Devils, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid who are all attracted by the cheap price tag.
European sides will be looking to bolster their squads without having to fork out an eye-watering amount of cash, given the financial uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus crisis.
United chief Ed Woodward cast doubt over megabucks signings in the summer so a bargain swoop for Salisu may suit the Old Trafford side.
In addition, Juan Mata's father, Juan Mata Sr, represents Salisu which gives the Red Devils a boost in their plans to make a move for the Valladolid centre-back.
In an interview with Vipdeportivo, he said: "This may be the window of Salisu.
"It is another very young and African discovery, which this year has been the sensation of the league because at only 21 years old, 6ft 2in, left footed and playing central, in this category it is not easy.
"The truth is that I think this may be his window because many interests have arisen from many clubs and he deserves it. ”
United - who are plotting a £1o0m move for Jadon Sancho - could do with cover at centre-back even though the pairing of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof now looks pretty solid.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also suffered a major blow with transfer target, RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano reportedly agreeing a deal to join Bayern Munich.
Atletico boss Diego Simeone is said to have a keen interest in Salisu because he matches exactly the type of player he wants.
The Ghanaian ace - who came through the Valladolid academy - has been given just two yellows this season, scored a goal, provided an assist and committed just 17 fouls - one every 118 minutes.
Salisu was set to make his international debut for Ghana in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers last November but pulled out due to injury.
