Arnesen to Feyenoord fans: " Don't expect an instant hit right away from Conteh,"

The Club on the Meuse chief has warned his club's fans not to expect an instant hit of form from the Ghanaian youngster within a short period of time in the Eredivisie

Feyenoord Rotterdam fans should not envisage a good start from Christian Joe Conteh in the early stages of the 2020/21 Dutch Eredivisie league season, says club Sporting Director, Frank Arnesen.

The 20 year-old talented winger joined the De Kuip Stadium outfit on a four-year deal from German side St. Pauli.

Having suffered from a serious hamstring injury that kept him on the sidelines for many part of the Bundesliga campaign last term, Feyenoord has still reposed their confidence in the promising winger thereby luring his services.

His signing has brought hurrah to the fans and are expecting an instant result from him within a short time , but club Technical Director, Frank Arnesen has warned them against those high expectations over a good start right away from the talented flanks man.

The Dane football chief told Feyenoord TV:

"Christian is a talent, but we may not expect too much from him in the first months. First it is important that he gets fit and gets to know the club Feyenoord."

"He [Christian Conteh] was unlucky with a nasty hamstring injury, but he is completely over it now. We have medically examined him and that has been positive," Added Arnesen.

The Hamburg-born of Ghanaian origin is still eligible to represent Ghana at the expense of Germany at the international stage having featured for the youth sides of the European country.
