The Black Princesses will be making their fifth appearance at the World championship in France early next month.
In their four previous appearances, the Princesses failed to progress to the knockout stages.
Paired in group that has powerhouses like France, Netherland and a resilient New Zealand side, not many Ghanaians are hopeful of the Princesses chances at the world cup but midfielder Ernestina Abambila believes the team is well prepared and better positioned to defy the odds, better the wrongs of yesterday and make it to the knockout stages.
” There’s a good feeling in camp right now, and we must do everything we can to bring smiles back to the faces of our fans. We must beat all the competitors to enhance our chances of making it to the knockout stages of the competition and make our fans proud. The odds are against us but not impossible to turn it to favour. This will be our year of wonders.” She told Ahoto Fm, Kumasi
“We need to take very opposition seriously if we can attain this goal. We don’t need to underestimate or overestimate them because the football map in the world has changed and there are no minnows in the sport. The happenings in the just ended World Cup in Russia are ample testament to my claim.” She ended.
The Princesses are due to leave Ghana on Wednesday for training camp in Spain before they leave for France.
