WAFU Women's Cup: Ghana 2-0 Senegal - Black Queens start campaign with victory

The female senior national team of Ghana started their 2019 WAFU Women's Cup campaign with a resounding victory.

Ghana managed to record a 2-0 victory over Senegal in their group opener on Wednesday evening.
 
The reigning champions looked very dangerous in the first half but failed to find the back of the net as well as the Senegalese.
 
After lack of goals in the first department, Evelyn Badu fired the lead for the Black Queens after tapping in from a close range on the 75th minute of the match.
 
Coach Mercy Tagoe's side continued to pike pressure on the Senegalese which earned them another goal in the dying embers of the match.
 
On the 90th minute, Northern Ladies striker Abdulai Mukarama sealed their win over Senegal with a cool finish.
 
Hasaacas Ladies' Janet Egyir was voted the best player after the match.
 
Earlier in Group A, Ivory Coast humiliated the female senior national team of Togo 5-0.
 
Ghana will be hoping to confirm their semi-final spot when they battle out with Togo on Friday at 6:30 PM.
