The ex-Black Stars attacker is optimistic that the 29-year-old will clinch the fifth Africa Cup of Nations title for the West African nation.
Former TSG Hoffenhiem star Prince Tagoe has said that Andre Ayew’s leadership qualities could end Ghana's AFCON title drought.
Ayew was named the skipper of the senior national team of Ghana ahead of the last edition of the Cup of Nations staged in Egypt.
He was appointed as replacement for Ghana's all-time topscorer Asamoah Gyan ahead of the tournament which the Black Stars got eliminated by Tunisia in the round of 16.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Andre Ayew leads the Black Stars to win a Cup,”  Tagoe told Joy FM.
“He is a strong leader and very dedicated. He gives his all whenever he is on the pitch and you can see how he motivates the players as well,”
Despite despite playing in 1992, 2010 and 2015 finals, Tagoe believes the Swansea City vice-captain has the qualities to lead Ghana to a fifth Africa Cup of Nation glory.
Ghana is yet to win the Africa Cup of Nations trophy after 1982.
