Asante Kotoko left-back Christopher Nettey has expressed happiness in earning his first call-up to the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars, ahead of the double-header 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan.

The 22-year-old defender received a late invite by the Black Stars head coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor, who continued to blood local players into his squad after Bechem United's Prince Adu Kwabena and Kwadwo Amoako of Ashanti Gold.

The versatile defender has revealed his surprise at earning an invitation into the Black Stars for the 2021 African Nations Cup double-header duels against Sudan.
"It's a dream come true, I am so excited for my call-up", he told
Nettey hopes to make impression on CK Akonnor in the forthcoming games to boost his chances of earning a second call-up in Black Stars subsequent matches.
"I've come this far as a result of hard work and dedication and I am going there to do same to cement a place in the team. I am ready to learn from my seniors and implement on the field when given the nod".
"I'll continue to work hard to make everyone who has been supporting me since the beginning of my career proud," he ended.
Black Stars will host Sudan in a double-header with the first encounter set for Thursday, November 12, at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium before playing same opponent in the reverse fixture in Omdurman on Tuesday, November 17.
