Head Coach of the Ghana men U-17 team, Ben Fokuo has stated categorically clear that their main target heading into the WAFU tournament was to secure a ticket to the 2021 CAF U17 Cup of Nations.

The Black Starlets are currently in Togo for the WAFU Zone B U17 Championship having shared spoils in their first game against the Flying Eagles of Nigeria thanks to late equaliser from skipper of the side Abdul Fatawu Issahaku who converted from the spot.

Ghana currently are left with their second and last group game against Group B leaders Ivory Coast and will need only a draw from that game to cruise into the next stage of the tournament.
Head coach of the Starlets Ben Fokuo has disclosed their main aim is to secure qualification to the 2021 Total U17 AFCON which will be staged in Morocco since they have not been into the competition for a while now.
Also, he stated they are focused for their next game and are well psyched and prepared very well for the competition. He narrated in an interview;
"We need to win and we are prepared for every country so far as I am concerned. As I said earlier, the spirit in the camp, the focus of the players, the psychological edge and the mental toughness and everything is in place."
“Our target is to qualify to the AFCON, that is our main target. That will make us move forward to the AFCON and the World Cup. It’s been a long time since we played at the AFCON and the World Cup so our target is to qualify for the AFCON and hopefully the World Cup in future."
The Black Starlets takes on Cote D'Ivoire in their last group game and defeat will send them packing out of the competition.
