GFA Executive Committee member, Mr. Frederick Acheampong famously referred to as 'Achie' has reiterated Ghana will not get any financial benefit from the Japan friendly despite agreeing the Asian nation catered for all the cost involving their journey.

The Black Meteors were humiliated by Japan in an international friendly in their capital, Tokyo, as they continue their preparations towards the upcoming Olympic Games which is due to commence very soon.

The Blue Samurai in two matches, handed a 10-0 scoreline to the the Ghana U23 side, handing them 6-0 last Saturday before humbling them again by 4-0 on Tuesday all at the Fukouka Best Denki Stadium.
As part of the contingent that made the trip, the ex- AshantiGold SC CEO has stated openly that there's no any financial benefits from the friendly but confirmed the Ghana Government spent nothing on this journey since Japan took care of all their expenses. He told Happy FM in Accra;
“We are not getting any money from this friendly. They are paying for all our expenses and the cost around the match.” Acheampong told Happy FM
"The players too are getting the exposure and experience. It’s not all the friendly matches that we get money."
The Ghana Olympic team ain't done yet as they will have to again test their strength against South Korea in a double header- 12th and 15th June, 2021 respectively at the Jeju Football Stadium.
