Daniel Amartey elated after Black Stars return Featured

Ghana and Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey has expressed his excitement following his return into the senior national team for last week's friendlies having remained sideline for sometime now.


The stalwart centre-back returns into the team after 977 days thus over two years having been out after suffering a horindous leg injury against West Ham United in the Premier League when the two sides met in 2018.

It was a huge blow for coach Akwasi Appiah then, who missed his service in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations which was held in Egypt.
The 26 year old made a resounding return into coach CK Akonnor's team having featured against the Atlas Lions of Morocco in Rabat and was also sensational against Ivory Coast last Saturday in Cape Coast.
Expressing his excitement on Twitter, the ex- FC Copenhagen defender showed his excitement for the return stating attention is now focused on the upcoming World qualifiers and the 2021 AFCON which comes off early next year. He wrote; 
“I thoroughly enjoyed my return back to the Senior National Team. We will continue with our preparations towards the upcoming WCQ and AFCON”.
Daniel Amartey, 26, after his sideline return played in the last part of the just season guiding Leicester City to win their first ever FA Cup in their history after narrowly beating Chelsea by 1-0 at Wembley.
