Spokesperson for the Ghana Football Association [GFA], Henry Asante Twum has poured cold water on reports that the technical director of the Black Stars Bernhard Lippert as been appointed the interim manager.

It has been widely-speculated that the German tactician was taking charge of the national team fold, after Charles Akonnor was fired as Black Stars head coach.

“Lies, lies, lies. So why do people do these things? Massa (Mr) stop throwing dust into the eyes of Ghanaians,” the FA spokesperson furiously said.

The Football Association announced the contract termination of Charles Akonnor and his two assistants namely David Duncan and Patrick Greveraars on Monday evening.

The trio were relieved off their duties - following the Black Stars' recent shambolic performance in the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Meanwhile the Executive Council of the Ghana FA has handed a three-day ultimatum to a committee led by the vice president of the local football governing body Mark Addo to hunt for a new coach and assistants for the Black Stars.
