MATCH REPORT: Ghana 4-0 Gabon - Black Meteors thrash Gabon in U23 AFCON Qualifier

Ghana recorded a heavy home win over the Gabon U23 team in the first leg tie of the Africa U23 Cup of Nations qualifiers on Saturday afternoon.

The Ghana U23 side posted a 4-0 victory over their Gabonese counterparts in the qualification round at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Black Meteors of Ghana dominated the first department of the match as they managed to score one goal before recess.
Slovakia-based Osmanu Bukari nearly opened the score in the second minute but his strike was saved by the Gabonese goalkeeper as well as Owusu's strike on the 5th minute.
Former Inter Allies goalkeeper Kwame Baah denied the visitors from snatching the opener on the third minute with a brilliant double saves.
Coach Tanko's charges continued to dominate the game with beautiful passes despite the earlier defensive errors to open the score through Kwabena Owusu.
On-loan Salamanca CF attacker Kwabena Owusu fetched the lead for the Ghana U23 team with an audacious strike on the 14th minute.
The Gabonese could have levelled the score on the 25th minute but a strike from Shavy was denied by the post as Musah Nuhu also squander a goal glaring opportunity.
Back from the break, SC Paderborn talisman Bernard Tepketey replaced Benjamin Tetteh.
Substitute Bernard Tepketey doubled the score for the male national U23 side with his first touch on the 46th minute of the game.
The Gabonese gained possession to search for a consolation goal but their effort couldn't futile with Ghana's solid back line with Musah Nuhu and Zakaria Fuseini.
Osmanu Bukari extended the lead for the Black Meteors with a sumptuous strike on the 75th minute of the match.
Isaac Twum also substituted Yaw Yeboah in the mid of the second department of the match.
Bukari completed their heavy home victory with a stunning strike on the 85th minute of the game.
In the dying embers of the match, WAFA striker Richard Danso replaced two-goal hero Osmanu Bukari.
The match ended in a 4-0 win in favor of the Ghana U23 team.
