Coach Ibrahim Tanko and his charges have qualified for the first time to the Total Africa U-23 Cup of Nations after eliminating Algeria in the final qualifying round.

The Black Meteors of Ghana booked themselves a ticket to the 2019 CAF U23 Cup of Nations after pipping the young foxes on Tuesday evening.
Ghana inflicted a 1-0 home defeat on the Algeria U23 team in the reverse leg encounter hosted at the May 8 Stadium in Setif.
The Black Meteors advanced to the third edition of the tournament on a 2-1 aggregate after the first leg staged in Accra last week ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
The Algerians looked very dangerous in the first half as Mohammed Amine and Hamra Abdeerrahime kept tormenting the back line of the Meteors.
Goalkeeper Kwame Baah made three brilliant saves to deny the Algeria from scoring as the first department of the match ended in a scoreless draw.
After the break, Coach Tanko's side gained possession to launch several fearsome attacks which earned them the only goal.
Skipper Yaw Yeboah ended the dream of the Algerians with his lone strike on the 65th minute of the game.
The back line of the Black Meteors denied the homesters on several occasions from levelling the score as the game ended in a 1-0 win in favor of Ghana.
This year's edition of the CAF U23 Cup of Nations which will be staged between 5-22 November 2019 in Egypt.
The top three teams qualifying automatically to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo and the fourth-placed finisher playing in a play-off against a team from the Asian Football Confederation.
