MATCH REPORT: Black Maidens beat Liberia in U17 Women's FIFA World Cup qualifier

The female national under-17 team of Ghana recorded a victory over Liberia in the first leg tie of the U17 Women's FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Sunday.

The Black Maidens of Ghana inflicted a 2-0 home defeat on the Lonestar of Liberia at the Antoinette Tubman Sports Stadium.
 
Goals from Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah and Salamatu Abdulai handed Ghana the needed maximum points to keep their qualification hopes alive.
 
The second leg tie will be played in Ghana in the next fourteen days.
 
The winner of the two-legged fixture will progress to the next stage of the U17 Women's FIFA World Cup qualification round
