The retired goaltender could not hold back his frustration over his snub for the 2014 Mundial and has been broadsided by his former playing mate having touted himself as the best for the tournament

''Two million players could have been selected for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil had a mere squad selection been done by the coach for the tournament,''  this was the sharp-tongue reply to Richard Kingston by Fatau Dauda when the former claimed that he was the finest shot-stopper to have merit a call-up at the expense of the latter and his other two colleagues who made the cut for the finals in Brazil.

The 35-year-old ex-Orlando Pirates glovesman became infuriated with the pronouncement made by his former national team-mate and was left with no option than to berate him in equal measures having manned the post for the 2010 Fifa World Cup quarter-finalists team in the Flagship's contests.

Kingston felt he was hard done with the squad selection by the gaffer as he exudes over his tip-top goalkeeping form with his Turkish outfit Balikesirspor prior to their qualification into the top-flight under the year review.

That notwithstanding, Fatau Dauda thinks the former Wigan Athletic goal post custodian has goofed with his aim dig at him and his other two colleagues as the diatribe nearly led him to wail when he read the news in the local media outlets.

''Two million players could have been selected for that [ Brazil 2014 World Cup] tournament as that decision solely lies in the hands of the coach with regards to mere squad selection,''  the Lion as popularly referred by football fans fired to Kumasi-based Angel FM

''Frankly speaking, when I read the story , I nearly wept and the reason was that my senior brother [Richard] Kingston do devote his time in worshipping God. And so for somebody of his calibre whom we all learned from in the national team especially me per se during the CAN 2008 to be talking like this as l quite remember before the third place match for the bronze medal against Ivory Coast, he came to me and said; Fatau can you keep the post in my absence ? I assured him that yes I can but he was later forced to keep the post for that game despite being injured by the technical team,''

''Although he is really a top as well as a legend keeper as no one can dispute that. But for such a person to be making this kind of pronouncement is rather something unfortunate  that calls for a worry to we the active ones and I am highly disappointed in him.''
