PREVIEW: Asante Kotoko vs Karela United Featured

Asante Kotoko will have a date with another title contenders- Karela United at the Len Clay Stadium in an epic week 30 tie of the ongoing GPL season.


The Porcupine Warriors threw Karela United's title winning hopes in it first doubt after silencing them at Anyinase in the first leg, a venue they had never lost a competitive game.

The 'Kum Apem' lads knows they will have to go in for nothing but a victory today to keep the race on just like they did to Inter Allies last Monday in Dawu edging them out by 3-2 to run out with all three points.
Meanwhile, the Anyinase-based side pipped Legon Cities at the Crossby Awuah Memorial Park to stop their two game winning streak, propelled by goals from Umar Bashiru and Richard Berko.
Asante Kotoko still sit second on the league table despite sharing the same points with the current leaders with a defeat today likely to give their rivals a huge advantage with few games to end the season.
Karela United also not far away from winning the league as they relinquish on the 3rd position with 46, trailing the league leaders with 7 points
Coach Mariano Barreto took off reliable centre-back Abdul Ganiyu Ismail and Evans Adomako out in their last game all due to injuries but they are expected to return into the squad for today's game.
Abdul Latif Anabila- who missed their last game is expected to make a return into the squad after showcasing a stellar display in the first leg in Anyinase where he was adjudged man of the match in that game. 
On the part of Karela United, there are no any major injury worries as they have almost all their first team players available for selection for this game.
The visitors will also miss the service of elite gunman and the league's current top scorer Diawusie Taylor who has notched 16 goals so far in the ongoing season.
Asante Kotoko will also do without their first choice left back Imoro Ibrahim who is also currently with the Black Meteors in their Asian Tour.
