The Sogakope-based club will be embarking on their maiden trip to the Western Region to face Karela United in the Premiership with hopes of a good outcome.
Karela United will open their 2019/20 season with a clash with West Africa Football Academy at their new adopted home venue, Akoon Park.
Karela United are currently based in Tarkwa following the renovation works which has began at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park since last month.
West Africa Football Academy are coming into the match after a heavy win over Inter Allies in a friendly last weekend at the RedBull Arena in Sogakope.
The last time WAFA SC travelled to Western Region to square off with Karela United ended in a 2-0 defeat in the Normalization Committee Special Competition.
With the appointment of Coach Prosper Ogum Nartey, he will eyeing for a positive result againsta the Passion and Pride lads at their new adopted home ground.
On the other hand, Karela United are also coming into the fixture with 2016 Ghana Premier League title winner, Enos Adepah who joined them last week.
Karela United have been handed with a huge boost ahead of the match with the return of their two key players namely Emmanuel Kyekyeh and Diawusie Tayothers.
Experienced goalkeeper Isaac Hagan is expected to be in post for the team after rejecting offers from some Ghana Premier League sides.
Despite the departure of Emmanuel Ocran, Solomon Sarfo Taylor, Imoro Ibrahim, Empem Dacosta, Emmanuel Mintah, Dominic Eshun, Patrick Yeboah, Amos Kofi Nkrumah, Godfred Saka and others, the club have made a massive recruitment for their league campaign.
WAFA have also paraded a new set of squad with old foes such as Daniel Lomotey, Abukari Ibrahim, Augustine Boakye, Prosper Ahiabu and others.
There is no injury situation at the two clubs.
Karela United and West African Football Academy have squared off only once in the Ghana Premier League — during the 2018 season — the match ended in a 1-1 stalemate in Sogakope.
