Former Ghana International Otto Addo has been appointed as part of the new assistant coaches of Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund following the sacking of manager Lucien Favre last Sunday.
The Yellow and Blacks suffered a heavy 5-1 loss to new boys Stuttgart over the weekend in week 11 of the league.
Accumulating only four points in their last five matches put some blemishes on their dream to win the league as they sit fifth on the league table trailing both Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig with five points.
With this, Borussia Dortmund have handed the team to assistant coach Edin Terzic on interim basis, to act as head coach until the end of the 2020/21 season.
However, Ghanaian and former club midfielder Otto Addo has been named as his assistant alongside Sebastien Gappert.
Club statement on Twitter reads;
“Assistant coach Edin Terzic has been appointed as interim manager until the end of the current season. Terzic’s coaching team will be joined by Sebastian Geppert and Otto Addo."
Otto Addo has been with Borussia Dortmund youth team since 2019 having served as deputy coaches to Danish giants FC Nordsjaelland, Borussia Mönchengladbach and former scout of the Black Stars.
On the pitch, he had a six year spell with Borussia Dortmund where he also played for clubs like Hamburg, Hannover 96, Mainz O5 etc making over 250 appearances in the German topflight with 35 goals to his belt.
