Bundesliga team of the season

Bundesliga season hasn't been low from incidents. Kickgh.com takes a look at the individual performances at the break of the most exciting league in Europe.

YAN SOMMER(GK)/Monchenglabach

The 29 year old seriously impressed with Die Nati at the 2018 World Cup and has carried his form into his fifth Bundesliga season at Glabach. So far, he has had more touches than any other keeper.

An average 51.3 passes per game playing a key role in the Foals build up. He is second best to Gulasci of Liepzig with 8.1 long balls per game and conceded just 18 goals with 58 saves.

The Swiss international has been able to stop three-quarters of shots he's faced (74%) and kept 7 clean sheets making him the best in the league.

This is the main reason why he can't be excluded as an important figure of Monchenglabach's impressive start to German's top flight.

The Defending champions fullback began the 2018/19 season as one of many important young players in the Bayern Munich squad.

He is by far the best player for the resurgence Bavarians side. In this season alone, Kimmich has a goal & seven assists to his name. As a defender, he has 53 chances created and 91.5% pass accuracy (second best to Witsel).

ACHRAF HAKIMI(LB)/Borussia Dortmund

The best U21 full-back in the Bundesliga for sure, Achraf Hakimi makes a strong case for being the most complete defender of his type in any age bracket.

The Real Madrid loanee has been a virtual ever present in the Dortmund back four since making a goal-scoring debut on Matchday 5, racking up a string of assists in games against Bayer Leverkusen, Augsburg and Hertha Berlin.

What’s more, the Morocco international only falls a few per cent short of Bayern’s Joshua Kimmich in terms of challenges won and passes completed, and is yet to taste defeat in 12 Bundesliga appearances. He operates on both flanks too.

SALIF SANE(CB)/Schalke 04

The Royal Blues of the Gelsenkirchen have been bad this season. Domenico Tedesco's side are lying 13th on the log and have accumulated just 18 points.

The problem is upfront because Schalke 04 is part of the best defensive side in the bundesliga. The key member of this defensive set-up is Salif Sane.

The Senegalese has 4.1 aerial duels per game; 35 tackles and 82 clearance making him the best center back in the Bundesliga.

Shortlisted for the Golden Boy in 2018. The former Red Bulls Salzburg youngster is one of Europe's hottest defensive prospects and has been a regular in the Liepzig side with the Best record in the league as things stand.

The king-sized Frenchman averaged 69 percent of attempted aerial duels & laser-guided 85 percent for passes completed.

After playing for seven different clubs at various levels of German football since the start of his career, Karim Demirbay has finally found his feet at the heart of Hoffenheim's midfield, drawing attention from the Bundesliga and beyond.

The former Schalke & Dortmund youth player has emerged as one of the outstanding midfield talent under Julian Nagelsmann.

In his 17 outings this season, he has scored 2 goals & assisted twice and created 34 chances.

He is the main engineer for the cunning Favre side. The 29 year old has clearly indicated to the German's as the best signing for the league.

With his experience, mental strength, tactical awareness & creativity, he has been a core to the blossoming Dortmund side.

The liege-midfield dynamo has form compact duo with Danish Delaney making pass completion an astonishing 94% which is the best so far in the Bundesliga. Not all, he has transfigured defence to attack 24 ball interception, 26 tackles and 26 clearances.

It seems the German international has his scoring boots back after a boring world cup and injury woes in previous seasons.

The BVB's skipper, with his experience, has strong attacking connection with Paco Alcacer and England international Jadon Sancho with the trio scoring 29 goals.

He has been involved in 16 Bundesliga goals scoring 11 and assisting 5. The matchday 11 saw him at the peak of his prodigious powers.

Thorgan Hazard(CAM)/Monchenglabach

Thorgan Hazard has been a force to reckon with and has been a backbone of Glabach sucess in the Bundesliga. His statistics shows vividly that he is the best in the German top flight so far.

Thorgan's performance has attracted top clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Dortmund. The Foals talisman has been involved in 15 goals as of the winter break which equals his last season stats (10 goals, 5 Assists).

He has also created more chances in open play than any other player and also highly contributed duties with 30 successful tackles.

SEBASTIAN HALLER(RAM)/ Eintrancht Frankfurt

Sebastian Haller has made an impression this season. The former Norway international has been proven right. After nine goals in the whole of last term, Haller already has nine goals this season with only teammate Jovic and top scorer Alcacer have more.

Throw in eight assist that put him level with BVB's Sancho and Nehaus of Glabach in that category, Haller has a hand in more goals than any other Bundesliga player.

PACO ALCACER (FW)/Dortmund Borussia

Dortmund striker Paco Alcacer has turned himself into his team's golden substitute, as well as Bundesliga's top scorer with 12 goals.

The former Barcelona player has scored twice in the four games he has featured in the starting line-up, while he has managed to send the ball into the back of the net an incredible ten times coming from the bench.

Alcacer has just played 469 minutes this season, averaging one goal every 39 minutes - extraordinary figures for the Spanish international.

Since his arrival in Germany, he has managed to discover his form and tops the league's scorers, sitting two goals clear off Eintracht Frankfurt's Luka Jovic, Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski and RB Leipzig's Timo Werner.
