Ghanaian striker Abdul Basit Khalid has completed a move to Kosovo Superliga side FK Dukagjini, marking a return to a league where he previously made a name for himself.
The 29-year-old forward finalized his medical examinations before officially putting pen to paper with the top-flight club.
Khalid, who began his professional career with Dreams FC in Ghana, had been without a club since parting ways with Libyan giants El Etthiad earlier this year. His move to Dukagjini brings him back to familiar ground, having previously enjoyed a productive stint in Kosovar football with FC Prishtina between 2016 and 2019. During that spell, he scored 30 goals in 105 appearances and helped the club win the Kosovo Cup in the 2016/17 season.
In a statement announcing his arrival, FK Dukagjini expressed delight over securing the experienced Ghanaian attacker:
“We are pleased to announce the agreement reached with striker Basit Abdul Khalid. The 29-year-old from Ghana joins our family for this season, bringing with him experience and quality in the offensive unit. Everyone at the club welcomes Khalid and wishes him the best of luck with our shirt.”
Khalid’s arrival is expected to strengthen Dukagjini’s attacking department as they look to make a strong push in the domestic campaign.
The well-travelled forward has previously featured for clubs across Albania, North Macedonia, Tunisia, Moldova, and Kuwait, bringing a wealth of international experience to his new side in Kosovo.
