Ghana and Gor Mahia FC midfielder, Enoch Morrison has stated he is very happy having an experienced figure like CK Akonnor to lead them ahead of next season and is really looking forward to achieving success together
The 21-time Kenyan champions announced the former Black Stars coach as their man at the dugout for the next two years and unveiled him to their supporters last Friday
The mercurial midfielder joined the club last summer on a free transfer after mutually parting ways with Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko and has been very impressive since his arrival and is one of the supporters favourite at the Moi International Stadium
Speaking on the appointment of his compatriot, Morrison described CK Akonnor as a coach with a huge charisma and is very optimistic they will achieve plenty successes with him in charge
“The team informed us about the appointment yesterday. It’s not only CK but the assistant and the goalkeeper’s trainer are all Ghanaians, which makes me very happy,” the former Asante Kotoko midfielder told Ghanasportspage.
“I’m 100 per cent sure that CK will lead us to success. Some players asked me about how CK is, and I told them he is very strict. He is someone I believe can manage egos, and I believe he will do well,” he added.
Gor Mahia have already commenced preseason and CK Akonnor will take over right away to ensure he get the players to understand his system before the new season starts
